Flakk started in a kitchen on Laugavegur in 2026. Two founders who'd run guesthouses and one engineer who'd rebuilt three PMSes before, all tired of software that treated independent properties like small chains.
The big PMSes are built for 200-room chains with revenue departments and marketing teams. The budget tools are built for Airbnb hosts with four units. The 12-to-80-room sweet spot — the properties that make up most of Icelandic hospitality — is served badly by both.
Flakk is for that middle. A proper PMS, but mobile-first and Icelandic from day one. The modules a chain has, without the chain complexity. Our team on retainer, when another in-house hire is more friction than it's worth.
Every module ships to our early-access partners first. They tell us what works, what breaks, what we missed. We release when they're using it, not when a sprint ends. The pilot properties are listed on our Hoteliers page by name as they come out of early access.
